They sell kaya puffs, salted egg pastries (ham dan sou), biscuits and freshly baked peanut biscuits. Peanut biscuits are the most famous item here. Everyday, there will be a long queue of people waiting to buy the peanut biscuits. Some are willing to wait for the next batch of peanut biscuits when they are totally sold out. Kacang Soya Lai Kee

Where to enjoy some tau foo fa or soya bean these days? No worries, there's Kacang Soya Lai Kee, located between Yee Thye and House Of Hearts in town. Though those tau foo fa are not the best in town but it taste good too. Not as good as Funny Mountain, but still acceptable and reasonable. Not only tau foo fa, but they serve soya bean as well.

I'm not sure what it says but I guess that's the menu or definition or ingredients. I seriously have no idea. I can't read mandarin words.

This is how the restaurant looks like. Just a tiny shop with some tables and plastic stools. If you wished to eat here, please do so. If you want to take away, I guess there is an extra charge.

This is the tau foo fa in ginger sugar (geung tong). Tasted a bit spicy because of the ginger sugar. However, taste good. Later on, we also ordered black soya bean. A felt the soya bean is a bit sweet. Soya bean are already chilled. So you can request for no ice since its already cold.

Restaurant Tim Shun Loong

Restaurant Tim Shun Loong, located along Jalan Peh Kee Koh, Taman Kampar, 30250, Ipoh Perak. Just a normal restaurant like any other restaurants, but this is the only one that serves a vast variety of kuih, dessert and food.

What amused me was the choices of nyonya kuih. They have kuih talam, kuih lapis (9 chunk gou), sago kuih, kuih in a bowl (wun chai gou), onde-onde, egg tarts, blue glutinous rice (lam fa fan) and many more. Order whatever you want, it's all there waiting for your arrival.

You can either eat there, or take away. The person in charge will help you calculate the amount to pay.

Some other food available at the stall are nasi lemak and fried bihun. They come in packets, making it easier for people who wants to take away.

This is how the stall looks like. All full with food. Such a long counter top, yet full with food.

This is the cucur udang or prawn fritters. According to one website, I forgot which one, this is said to be the most reasonable prawn fritters in town which contains a lot of prawns. Quite true. I've tried it and it was indeed delicious. The chili sauce blends well with the fritters. You've got to try it with the chili.

This is the glutinous rice which comes with a packet of kaya. Just the right amount of kaya for you to enjoy the glutinous rice. Nice and sweet. Love the taste. Come and try one day. It's awesome. Don't believe? Try searching it on Google, you find so many of them complementing on the food here.

De Cuisine Restaurant

De Cuisine. Enjoy your set lunch at a reasonable price. The restaurant is located along Jalan Leong Sin Nam, 30300, Ipoh Perak. However, parking lots are limited along Jalan Leong Sin Nam. Sometimes, you will need to park a few streets away. Be patient.
As you arrive, you will be greeted with the sound of bells hanging from the door. Somehow, I find it very annoying as it is loud and ear pricking.

As you can see, follow the rules as you enter. No animals or pets, and no outside food is allowed to inside the restaurant. Most importantly, no smoking. Last time, this restaurant opens day and night. Now, their business hours are only from 11.45am to 5 or 5.30pm. They are close on Mondays.

Setting of the restaurant. Dining tables with rattan chairs. Cooling atmosphere with air conditioning and ceiling fans. Restaurant are decorated with vintage posters, records, and photographs. Mostly were retro and oldies. The restaurant also put on some soothing old songs. Bravo!!

From this view, you can see the air conditioner and ceiling fan. The restaurant are seldom packed, but food isn't that bad. It's taste okay to me.

Normally, my family would order set lunch as it is at a reasonable price. The set lunch includes the soup of the day, mainly mushroom soup but not always. Then, you can choose your main course, either chicken chop, lamb chop, pork chop or dory fish. It comes in a few sauce such as garlic sauce, mushroom sauce, black pepper sauce and bbq sauce. This does not apply for dory fish. For drinks, you can choose either coffee, milo or tea. You can either choose to have it hot or cold. Normally, it will be served hot. If you request for cold, then your drink would arrive before you meal. If you want it hot, it will usually arrive after your main course or dessert. Overall, the set is RM14.50. If you would like to eat some dessert, just add an addition of RM1 to enjoy cake with ice cream, if I'm not mistaken.

After your order is taken, you will be given cutlery according to your meal.

Each an everyone will be served with sky juice. No worries, it's free. They will refill your cup if you gobble up the water at once.

First, soup of the day. Mushroom soup with some croutons. Nice and satisfying. I enjoy chewing chunks of mushroom in the soup. Add some black pepper to taste.

My dad requested for ice black coffee. Sugar is not added. They serve you with some sugar water. Add in yourself.

I ordered Milo. Quite watery.

There comes your main course. I ordered chicken chop in garlic sauce. It comes with some salad as appetizer and steamed potato. Salad consist of  cucumber, tomatoes with salad dressing. Steamed potato taste good with the buttery smell.

After finishing your main course, your drinks will be served. Hot coffee. Taste okay. Not too watery. Acceptable taste. Add your own creamer and sugar. Ask for more if you need more.

Lastly, make your payment. Just ask for the bill and he will come to your table. You do not need to pay any tax or GST in this restaurant. Reasonable enough.

However, it still taste the same as it was before, crunchy fried chicken that are finger licking good. The did you notice the new flavour in town? If you said butter garlic crunch, you're right. Pick any dish and pay for it. At the stall, I see dishes such as egg, salted egg, beansprouts, cabbage, and curry chicken of various types. This plate of rice with beansprouts, vegetables and chicken costs me only RM4.50. You can request for some curry, dhal (not spicy) or other curry. Di Naina in Tesco Extra, Ipoh

Do you know Restaurant Di Naina is now open for business in Tesco Extra Ipoh located at Jalan Jambu, Taman Teh Teng Seng, 31400 Ipoh better known as Tesco before refurbished. Now that Nasi Kandar Pelita is nowhere to be found in Tesco. This is the second alternative us. However, services are way much different from Pelita. Restaurant Di Naina goes by the 'SELF SERVICE' service or in Malay, 'LAYAN DIRI'. So, do not wait for people to serve you, order it yourself at the counter. After ordering, you will be asked to make payment before food are being served.

You will be asked to take your own drinks back to your own table while food will be served shortly. Not very fascinating, is it? This is the iced Nescafe I ordered.

At the same time, you will be given a number to show your order. After food are served, this number will be taken away.

This is the setting of the restaurant. Do not fancy the chairs as they are quite flimsy.

Order your food and drinks at the counter. Ask for assistance if you seriously do not know what to do. You can ask the workers wearing the D' Naina's apron.

You can choose to eat indoors or outdoors. It's up to you. This is the door that leads you outside. There would be a sink beside this sliding door for you to wash your hands after eating. No worries, use your hands if you need to.

So, this is it. FOOD!!!! The only thing you want to know is how it taste, rite? However, I would say not that satisfying. I've not tried everything yet but I've manage to taste the Roti Telur. You know what, texture is a bit tough, and curry probably a bit watery I would say. Probably would go back to try some other food.
