Zamsice Burger
When was the last time I last eaten a burger? Very long ago.....It looks like I'm back for my burgers again. This stall is located in Ipoh Garden East, Taman Ipoh Timur. It will only be open during the night. Sometimes, it's open to as late as 2 am during Saturdays, and probably 12.30 on Sundays.
Here is the menu. They serve oblong, burger, hotdog, and benjo. All sounded very delicious.
Everything that you order is hot and nice. It will be cooked on the spot for you. Wait for about 10 minutes for it to be ready. You can take a seat at the table and stools provided.
I've ordered a Burger Ayam Special or Special chicken burger. Only at RM3.60. What is the difference between a special burger and normal ones. Special in their menu simply means adding an egg. The normal burger only comes with the chicken patty and the onions and sauce excluding the egg. If you are an egg lover, order special then.
What's inside? Raw onions, my favourite. And chili sauce and mayonnaise of course. If you don't like raw onions, please request them not to insert it into your burger to prevent wastage. You can always request for a minimum amount of chili sauce and mayonnaise as well.

Ice Ball @ Concubine Lane, Ipoh
Wow!!! Ice ball. Familiar with the name? It is like back in the olden times again where you get shaved ice in a form of a ball. Now we can find it in Concubine Lane also known as "Yi Lai Hong ", Ipoh. The process of making it is very simple. I saw the lady doing it, she put the chunk of ice into the ice shaving machine, and there's the shaved ice. She scoops it up into two small bowls and combines it together. The remaining ice bits are also put together to form a big ball. You need to choose two flavours given. The lady will pour the syrup on the ice ball. Half the ice ball with each flavour. I've chosen rose and orange. Mmmmmm.... Then you are given two satay sticks where you can hold the ice ball upright. Eat it fast!!! Or it will melt..... Only RM3.00 per ball.

Restaurant Thean Chun
Restaurant Thean Chun is located 73, Jalan Bandar Timah, 31650, Ipoh Perak or next to Kong Heng. A restaurant that is famous for their chee cheong fun and egg custards.
This restaurant is always busy. All age groups can be found here, it's not a very cool place, but food here are certainly delicious.
What's famous in Ipoh? The answer will always be White Coffee. This is the classic white coffee, in a porcelain mug and saucer. The coffee here is awesome!!!! They serve you Chang Jiang White Coffee. Rich but not bitter.
This is also white coffee but with ice. Did I mention that Chang Jiang 3 in 1 coffee are also sold in this restaurant.
Other than white coffee, what do they drink in the olden times? Kopi O of course. It's good as well, not watery nor too sweet.
Their famous Egg custards.... Mmmmmm... Haven't have these for a long long time. Need a little sweetness in my life.... <3 <3 <3 Soft and sweet. Having dessert after a meal is heaven.
Last but not least, chee cheong fun. There's mushroom sauce, original, and curry. MMmmmmm.... RM3.50 per plate. It is very lovely, noodles are soft and springy, sauce taste just right, topped with fried onions (WONDERFUL!!!!) and sesame. You can request for pickled green chilies as well. The chili is not spicy at all. Taste great when it goes together with it.

Hoe Kiong 72 @ Batang Kali
Hoe Kiong 72 is a nice place to eat when you are in Batang Kali. Free wifi available. You can get the password from the restaurant owner.
House branded beancurd. RM12.00 only. Really nice. Soft and tasty.
This dish is highly recommended to everyone. "Lai yau yu" or butter fish. What's special about this fish is, you will never be afraid of getting a bone stuck in your throat because they remove every single bone. Besides, it is super crunchy. Deep fried, so it is crunchy on the outside but soft in the inside. RM40.00 for this dish. However, the price is not fixed as it varies to the size of the fish.
This is the kangkung cooked in belacan. We asked for less belacan and it turned out to be too less. Hardly any taste of belacan. Maybe, we should not ask for less. RM12 for this dish.
Bittergourd cooked with roasted pork. They are not the best cook when it comes to this dish. The roasted pork are quite fat, and the dish is not that awesome after all. RM20.
This is the chicken. Supposely to be cooked in some sort of wine? But it taste more like herbs. This is cooked with a free range chicken, so the chicken meat is quite tough. Hardly peeling of its bone.... I don't really like this. RM28.
White rice is served here. It is in the correct size.
A dinner for seven in Hoe Kiong 72 sums up to RM126.60, quite reasonable.

Tai Kar Rock
Tai Kar Rock is a restaurant located at 4, Jalan Seenivasagam, 31450, Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. It is located at the opposite row as Prudential. Their business hours are from 6.30 am to 3.00 pm from Mondays to Sundays. The restaurant would be quite empty if you are there before 9.30. After 9.30, it would be slightly crowded. So, be early.
This is their price list of food and drinks.
A vast variety of "yong liew". From fried ones to the ones in the soup. Price varies from RM0.70 to RM1.60 each. Order your noodles here as well.
Always our all time favourites, Kopi O and Coffee ice. RM3.70 for both. Taste okay, not the best in town.
Their specialities are the noodles and "yong liew". Here's the dry curry noodle. Comes with beansprouts, mint leaves, curry paste, dark soy sauce and a little curry soup. At the bottom, they put in some curry soup to make the noodles less dry, and on top there's curry paste to enhance the taste of the noodles. Mmmm.....
The yong liew do not taste the awesome after all. One of it that looked like fried turnip was hard as rock. Maybe it wasn't turnip after all because fried turnip is always with the slight softness in it. It costs RM9.30 for two plates of dry curry noodles and 4 pieces of "yong liew". The total of today's meal is RM13.00. I would say noodles are okay but they need improvements on their "yong liew".

Cafe Max 1 @ Ipoh
Additional drinks such as Soya Bean, Cincau and Limau can be found here as well.
If you noticed the pink paper on the wall, it can actually brighten up your day. It says "All prices of drinks remain the same". Wow!!! Isn't that incredible? Most restaurants increase prices of food and drinks during the new year. Each and every year, most restaurants increase their price up to RM0.10- RM0.20. That is why food and drinks in Ipoh are getting more expensive every year.
Its the second day of Chinese New Year. Do you see the crowd?
Let's try out some food. Dry curry chicken noodles.... Sounds and smells good. Comes with curry chicken and potatoes and lime. This is really spicy. If you cannot take spicy food, it is advisable to tell them to put less curry oil when you order your food. Other than its spiciness, it actually taste kinda good. It is only RM5.00 per plate. Other than that, there's white coffee ice. Taste good but it was kind of expensive. It is RM2.00 per glass.
Next, we have Wan Tan Hor. Comes with vegetables, fish cakes and egg broth of course. Taste kinda good as well. Mmmm....
Last but not least, there's popiah. The stuffed fillings of the popiah, makes it taste good and very filling. You can really leave out the others just by eating this. Mmmmm....
