Restaurant & Cafe New Weng Fatt @ Ipoh Garden South

Restaurant & Cafe New Weng Fatt is located at 1, Lebuh Taman Ipoh, Taman Ipoh Selatan, 31400 Ipoh Perak. A coffee shop where Ipohan enjoy their breakfast.

Since everyone said their coffee taste good. So, here we go. Presentation wise, it is 10 out of 10. Nice presentation. When I took a sip, it tasted normal. It was okay, not really that awesome if I would compare it to those famous coffee around Ipoh such as Nam Heong, Sun Yoon Loong and others.

Out of 3 noodle stalls, I've decided to try Weng Kee Gopeng Mee. That is the stall.

Dry curry chicken noodle. Curry chicken with wanton noodles I guess. Consists of beansprouts, vegetables, mint leaves, potatoes and curry chicken. I love the curry because it is not a tiny bit spicy. Everyone can enjoy this, you won't end up with watery eyes or nose. The curry smells good and taste good as well with the taste of lemon grass. The noodles are very springy and the chicken and potatoes are cooked. Love it very much. It is also at a reasonable price, only RM5.00 per plate.

New Hollywood Canning Garden

My all time favourites. White coffee of course. The coffee here taste okay. Not watery, just the nice taste.

Here it is. New Hollywood. The place sounded grand but it has no connection with "Hollywood". It is quite crowded in the morning, especially weekends. This restaurant is located at 38, Jalan Lee Kwee Foh, 31400, Ipoh Perak.

This stall sells noodles. So, I ordered the kuey teow soup noodle.

Kuey Teow Soup Noodle. Only RM5.00. Taste okay.

Next, I have Siamese Laksa. I wanted to order prawn mee actually,  but it was sold out.

Siamese laksa. Looks nice and smells good. Contains fish, mint leaves, pineapple, cucumber and many more. I would advise you to ask for more soup because the soup given is quite less. Its a bit sour, and not spicy. So don't worry, you won't be sobbing on your way out.  Only RM5.00 for one bowl.

Next, I need to get some snacks. The main course is never enough to keep me full. So, there's Lobak. All the fried stuff. Choose what you like and they'll fry them for you.

Here comes our Lobak. It also comes with their chili sauce. Looks gooey but taste good. It is RM4.50 for this plate of lobak. Very crispy.

Restaurant Breakfast Coffee Shop

Restaurant Breakfast Coffee Shop is located at Jalan SP 2, Taman Segar Perdana, Cheras, 43200, Kuala Lumpur.
Its called the Restaurant Breakfast Coffee Shop, so it is obviously for breakfast. It can be quite packed sometimes, especially early morning.

This stall caught my attention because someone told me they sell "Fook Jau Yu Dan Fun". I've never heard of such noodles in Ipoh. Have you?

So here it comes. Fook Jau Yu Dan Fun. Okay? So what's so special? Looks perfectly normal for fishball noodles. Just that the fishballs are slightly bigger than most fishball noodles.

So, I took a bite.... OMG!!! There's actually filling inside the fishball? Wow!!! Minced pork inside the fishball. That is why it is so big. It comes with 3 fishballs with fillings and 2 normal fishballs. Mmm.... Very innovative.

Next, we have Wanton Noodles. I'm already getting sick of Wanton Noodles because it taste the same almost everywhere. That springy noodles with black soy sauce. Finally, found something different here in Kuala Lumpur. They have Curry Chicken Wanton Noodles. How interesting. Contains vegetables, curry chicken and potatoes. Mmmmm..... By the look of it, you know you can't resist such good food. Not only the looks, but it really taste good.

Another flavour, Mushroom with Chicken Feet Wanton Noodles. This comes with mushroom sauce with mushrooms and chicken feet. This is slightly bland but taste good after all. Something new for Ipoh people. People in Ipoh, take note. Someone please start something different. Especially Wanton Noodles. I don't like the classic style but the new and innovative style.

Cafe Ray Of Hope

Cafe Ray Of Hope is a special cafe like no any other cafes around Ipoh. This is the one out of hundreds cafe that will open the eyes of many. Giving hope to each and everyone one of us that felt hopeless in life. A message to all of us, who are born normal, to be greatful in life. An inspiration to all the disabled that nothing is impossible. Even the word Impossible said, I'm possible.

As you enter the restaurant, you will be be greeted with a warm welcoming smile. Don't worry, each and everyone of them are the cutest and most loving people.

This is an article on Ray Of Hope. It was formerly awarded the cleanest restaurant back in 2012. It is also a Halal Restaurant. It is open from Tuesday to Saturday (9.00 am to 5.00 pm) and closed on Sunday and Monday. It is located at 24 & 26, Persiaran Bercham Selatan 31, Taman Sri Kurau, Bercham, 31400 Ipoh, Perak. Their contact information, 05-5488796 or ray.of.hope@gmail.com.

The restaurant. Nice and cooling. Did you notice that inspirational quote? Every Life Counts, Every Person Matters. So real.

Workers doing their part.

Workers serving the customers. Don't it looked so sweet???? Even I from the opposite side felt the warmness. I'm really touched by what I saw.

Finally, here comes the drinks. Coffee..... People here in Ipoh never really lives a day without coffee. Don't they?

Now, for non milk lovers. Here's Coffee O for you.

You're not a fan of coffee? Lets go with some fresh Ice Lemon Tea. If you're really tired on that day, order this. Boost you up from 0% to 100% energy. Really sour. You must definitely be lying if you said it wasn't sour.

Thousand Island sauce Chicken with Rice. This is really sour as well. If you combine this with the ice lemon tea, your stomach will corrode from to much acid. I was only kidding of course. LOL!!! So, they have all these green apples and chicken in thousand island sauce. Despite the sauce is already sour, plus the green apples. Walao!!!! Very very sour. I think extracting the green apples out would be a better choice.

Fried glass noodles. This was slightly lumpy I would say. Fried with fish cakes, beansprouts, carrot, egg and many more. It would definitely taste a lot better if it wasn't for that lumpiness.

Ginger and onion chicken rice. I would recommend you to try this. All the riches are all in the bowl. Spring onions, to onions, to ginger and also carrots. Not to forget our chicken as well. A great taste after all.

Herbal chicken bihun. Comes with chicken, black fungus, and fucuk. This is awesome as well. Love the soup base. Clear and nice.Mmmmm.....

How To Do Steamboat At Home?

First of all, you will obviously need a steamboat pot. Just get a small one will do. Then it's all down to your own choice. What I meant was the ingredients. Always browse the freezer area and the wet market to get your ingredients. Most importantly is the soup base. You don't want to drink MSG soup base, do you? Eating home is always about healthy stuff, so start boiling your own soup.

Ingredients (soup) :
1 whole chicken (chopped)
Herbs of your choice (light taste)
water

Steps :
1. Clean the chopped chicken and put it in the pot.
2. Put in the herbs and add water.
3. Boil in a slow fire until the chicken is cooked.

Next, the steamboat ingredients. If you don't want to walk around hunting for ingredients, just stop by the pick and mix section in Tesco to grab some of your favourite. If you are hardworking enough, take a walk at the market to get some of the fresh ingredients such as seafood and vegetables. You can enjoy steamboat, having a vast variety of food, and as many as you want.

Recommended ingredients for steamboat :
Prawns
Hard Boil Egg
Cocktail Sausages
Fucuk
Udon Noodles
Fishballs
Minced meat
Chicken
Vegetables
Beancurd
Enoki mushrooms
Meatballs
Glass noodles
Clams
Squids
Scallops

After the herbal chicken soup has been boiled, pour it into the steamboat pot and start putting the ingredients in. Put on the lid and let it cook for awhile. After 10 minutes or more, food are ready to be served. Once you start doing steamboat at home, you'll definitely be doing it the second time. Eat all you want but don't waste any of the food. Add more soup into the steamboat bowl if little soup is left. That's why, you should boil a big pot of soup. You can't finish it? No worries.... Keep in the refrigerator to be consume the next day.
